Ffrom Tichoretsk up to the edges of the earth
In 2001 in the village Novoromanovskaya, Krasnodarsky Krai, Russia the charity fund “Pilgrim” had started the rehab ministry. “It had begun with the revelation, - the Principle of the center tells, - in which God ordered to me to start the ministry to people like I had been before. The former addicted left for Russia with the thought that his former criminal enemies will kill him in Russia. When Grigoriy arrived at his native town and came to the local church there was only 17 members in it. Now, in 7 years, there are more than 250 members. And it’s just the beginning, - Grigoriy thinks. The teams of the Pastor f the Church “ Way to God” Vladimir Ignatiyev consists of graduates of the rehab center mostly. Grigoriy shared that his team also consists of those who used to be in prison with him or used drugs with him. He’s happy that then 7 years ago he obeyed the voice of God and regardless of the fear of death, he went to his native town for the addicts there have a chance to return to normal life. The rehab monastery “ Way to God” turned 7 in Dec 2008. During this period about 1000 people had had the rehab course in this center. In 3 centers ( in Volgodonsk, Pyatigorsk and in Pavlodolske ( Northern Osetia) the ministers are the missionaries from the center “Way to God”.In the nearest future they plan to start 3 more centers. Besides on a regular basis the ministry in 2 male prisons and in one female prison are held. Within the period of functioning of the monastery 27 families were created, healthy kids were born. Daily about 70 people have their rehab course in the center. They grow their food themselves. Grigoriy Kalinichenko: “ We have 28 bulls and 10 cows. We try not to buy food but to grow by ourselves. Our rehabilitation is free. We work at 2 farms . The chairman of the local farms gave us work at his farms. He has already given us 2 apartment for our ministry. In the second apartment we will have place for the kids of those who pass the rehabilitation. Many people call us up and ask to accept them to the rehabilitation with the kids but we didn’t have the premises. We started praying a lot – and God answered us!” Speaking about plans for the future, Grigoriy pointed out that they got the revelation to serve all the Kingdom of God without dependence on the denomination. “We bless other rehab centers with economy for them to be able to develop too. We aspire to raise new ministers and missionaries. They are invited to Kalmykia and to Siberia and to the neighboring cities. We’d like to do our best for as many as possible prostitutes, addicts and alcoholics to belong to Kingdom of God. It is not the social ministry as many people say, it is leading people to the Christ. And the purpose of our monastery - not just raise future members of the local church, but new ministers and missionaries. We try to live according to the revelation for God to reveal His will to us. That is why we pray and fast very often”.

30-year-old Yuriy used to be drawn in alcohol addiction only 3 years ago and it had turned him into an animal within several years. Presently he has become a completely different person.

In the village Kulikovo of Novoazovsky area the 34th rehab centre for addicts and alcoholics is opened. The parishioner of the Church of Good Changes gifted the house for as many addicts as possible to be able to restore their life. Already today 8 persons pass rehabilitation in it.

The leader of the congregation of rehab centers of Ukraine and Russia Alexander matushin went to Novosibirsk. According to him the year of rehab work was successful. And there were first graduates, and two real Russian log huts where much more people can have their rehab course.

Fayne Igor as all the other boys in due time used to play soccer, listened to music, went to Kiev until it came to his life. First either out of curiosity or because many senior friends tried it, and being guided by the principle “ you must try everything in life” he tried everything…

Sergey and Irina Pisarchuk got married in the Church of Good Changes after long lasting wanderings through life and rehabilitation in the centers for addicts and alcoholics. In due time each of them has killed their match. God forgave them and gave a chance to start a new life.

In the hall of the “Republic “ Pilgrim” the former addicts gathered and their total drug experience made 408 years. They drew the sad perspective to those who support the Methadone program: capitulation before the drug, bankruptcy of life, no chance to be set free, death. At the press- conference where all the TV channels and press of Mariupol gathered, the declaration of the workers of the Charity Fund “Pilgrim” has sounded. They appear against the working of replaceable methadone therapy in Ukraine.

The rehab center of addicts in Enakievo is one of the first which was opened by Mariupol missionaries in the miners’ city of the Donetsk region in 2002. For 2 years the workers of the center preach the Gospel in the miners’ villages distributing free tea and sandwiches to homeless people.

The Church of God in the city of Donetsk ( Pastor Vladimir Kovynev) has started the rehab center for addicts and alcoholics. This is the 31st center opened by the missionaries from the congregation of the rehab centers.

For the first time Western Ukraine appeared at the map of the rehab centers of the Charity Fund “Pilgrim”.
