In Mariupol "Pilgrim” guests from England
In the center of children's rehabilitation "Republic Pilgrim" in Mariupol, were guests of the British Liverpool. Jennifer and Marc are already familiar with pilgrim children. They were together at last summer camp in the Crimea: played football, went on hike at the Grand Canyon, and now they came to visit “Pilgrim” again. About the "Republic Pilgrim" Jane and Mark have learned at home in Liverpool, in the Christian church, which they attend. Two girls from Mariupol who had contact with a rehabilitation center, and came to Liverpool do missions told them about the "Pilgrim." Then the couple decided to get to know work of “Pilgrim" closer, and went to the Crimea, where had a great time with the children, went with them into the mountains. "It was wonderful and very hot" - they say.
In Crimea, Mark, a big fan of soccer, said that children do not have suitable footwear for the game. They twice sent to the "Pilgrim" parcel, but the Ukrainian customs for some reason returned twice to Mark, without any particular explanation. Then he and Jane simply come themselves; have brought the children sportswear and footwear. The center's director and officer Tatiana Karpukhina and Inna Popov took guests on a tour. They showed them classrooms, offices, game rooms, kitchen and dining room, utility room, and gym. They were followed by students of "Pilgrim" and, seizing the moment, trying to communicate with guests, making Inna to translate, showed them pictures, photos and inscriptions on the walls.
Mark and Jane said that they really liked children in the center “happy, friendly and courteous", and staff "very good".
In Ukraine, the British were only for a week. They found that Mariupol is a small and similar to Liverpool in terms of large-scale industry. Back in Liverpool, there are mines, as well as in Donetsk. "Donetsk, mine!" - said in Russian, Mark, who has already become skilled in the Russian language. And yet, according to British guests, Mariupol and Liverpool are similar in that their people love to play football.

Lately the project directed to help orphans have been created. More and more Christian families adopt orphaned kids. But what if a child has no chance to be adopted because they are either addicts already or have AIDS? They have been living on the street for a long time. They forget whet the family, clean bed and normal food mean. All they have is a habitual terror of basements, polyethylene sack with some glue and decaying wounds caused by dirty syringes… And what if they are only 8, 10, 12 years old or maybe 5 or 6… And they are already street kids.
